Waterwheel Maintenance Recommendations

Is my Hallster Waterwheel going to require a lot of maintenance?
  • No! Simply shut of the electricity and clear the intake of the pump once a month. Clean the pump and store for winter if your local weather requires it. We recommend stopping your wheel when nearing freezing temperatures.
How often do I have to clean my waterwheel?
  • Simply never (if preferred). The waterwheel will only become more rustic with increasing age! If you prefer, you can use a light amount of Clorox and water to remove algae build up.
Fill bearings with marine grade grease every 3 to 6 months at “Pillow Block Zerk locations”.

Every 3rd month tighten all hardware on waterwheel.

Best to keep waterwheels running to maintain good moisture balance!
